Greenbuddies installation teams are currently completing several ground-mounted power plants in the utility-scale PV sector. In total, more than 50 MWp is under construction.
Greenbuddies has been operating on the Swedish market for nine years, during which time we have delivered photovoltaic installations with a capacity of over 100 MWp. The latest projects thus build on the company's existing activities and confirm its ability to successfully deliver solutions even in the technically demanding Nordic conditions, where frequent challenges include rocky subsoil, difficult terrain, the changeable Nordic climate, and rain.
According to a report by the IEA, 847.5 MWp of new photovoltaic systems were connected to the grid in Sweden in 2024, representing a year-on-year decline of 47% compared to the record year of 2023. The decline was mainly due to the residential segment, where installations fell by 62%. On the contrary, large projects over 1 MW grew by 11% year-on-year, indicating growing demand for commercial photovoltaic power plants. The total installed capacity of all photovoltaic systems at the end of 2024 thus reached 4.83 GW, which is approximately 9% more than in Czechia, where, according to a report by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the total capacity was 4.43 GW.
