The Greenbuddies photovoltaic and technology group has announced a significant new appointment. David Veselý, an experienced manager who, prior to joining Greenbuddies, headed the green projects division at ČEZ ESCO, has taken the helm of the company. In his new role as Chief Executive Buddy and Chairman of the Board of Directors, he assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the company and the implementation of its long-term strategy.
David Veselý brings experience in managing complex energy projects, decentralised energy systems and the implementation of sustainable solutions for both the private and public sectors. He is also building on the previous collaboration between Greenbuddies and ČEZ ESCO in the implementation of complex EPC projects for photovoltaic power stations.

European expansion and international EPC projects
One of the main priorities for Greenbuddies’ new CEO will be the further development of EPC activities in international markets. Greenbuddies currently provides comprehensive services in the field of engineering, procurement and construction – from design and planning permission processes, through the procurement of technology and the construction itself, to the commissioning of solar power stations and battery systems. Since 2017, the group has delivered solar projects with a total capacity of over 1,500 MWp and operates in 18 European countries.
The focus will continue to be primarily on Germany, Austria, Italy and Scandinavia. Greenbuddies has already strengthened its local presence in Germany, where it is concentrating on providing complete EPC solutions for photovoltaic projects. Italy also offers significant growth potential, where the group is building up a local team and implementing new ground-mounted photovoltaic power stations.
“David is a manager with extensive experience in the large-scale energy sector. We expect him to make a significant contribution, particularly in the day-to-day management of the company, in supporting its international expansion and in launching new business lines,” says Ondřej Vodsloň.
BESS battery storage systems and new energy services
Alongside the construction of large-scale photovoltaic power stations, large-capacity battery energy storage systems (BESS) will be a key part of Greenbuddies’ future development. This technology enables the storage of generated electricity, allows for price optimisation throughout the day, stabilises the distribution grid and increases the energy self-sufficiency of industrial enterprises and other corporate customers.
Greenbuddies is already implementing standalone battery storage systems as well as projects combining PV plants and BESS. At the same time, it is expanding its services to include smart energy management, aggregation and the optimisation of battery system flexibility. It is precisely the integration of photovoltaics, energy storage and modern energy services that represents one of the main pillars of the European energy transition.
For investors and industrial companies, therefore, it is no longer just the installed capacity of a solar power plant that is decisive. The ability to store, manage and commercially utilise energy efficiently is playing an increasingly important role. Ondřej Vodsloň to focus on development and investment
The current CEO, Ondřej Vodsloň, remains a key member of the holding company’s management team. He will now devote himself fully to the strategic acquisition of projects, development activities, investment management, asset management and the management of energy resources. This organisational change therefore does not signify the departure of the original management team, but rather a division of responsibilities designed to create scope for more effective management of the growing international group.
With this move, Greenbuddies are combining their experience in the large-scale energy sector with their flexibility, technical know-how and ability to deliver challenging projects across Europe. The company’s new phase will not be solely about increasing the installed capacity of solar power stations. Its aim is to offer customers comprehensive solutions for the generation, storage, operation and smart use of renewable energy.
