Technical project parameters
The ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant was built on the premises of Donau Chemie AG and has an installed capacity of 10.3 MWp. It is equipped with 16,104 photovoltaic modules from the manufacturer ASTRO, each with a unit output of 640 Wp. The electricity is further processed by 28 Huawei inverters, and the foundation of the installation is a high-quality Zimmermann mounting system, which is installed on 4,142 piles and ensures the stability, longevity, and maximum energy yield of the entire installation.
The scope included civil works, substructure assembly, module installation, DC and AC cabling, inverter and switchgear installation, excavation, and comprehensive project management.
Challenges and regional benefits
Implementing the project within the Donau Chemie AG industrial site brought several challenges, such as integration with the existing chemical plant infrastructure and strict fire safety requirements. Meticulous preparation, team flexibility, and extensive experience with large-scale international projects — as well as a deep understanding of the client's needs — played a key role.
The result is a solar power plant that significantly contributes to the decarbonisation of the region and strengthens the energy self-sufficiency of the industrial area. For Greenbuddies, this project represents another milestone in expanding their know-how in large-scale international PV projects.
