Industrial companies and logistics operators are increasingly looking for ways to reduce energy costs and make better use of available building infrastructure. Large industrial rooftops provide an opportunity to generate renewable electricity directly where it is consumed.
Greenbuddies is preparing four new rooftop solar PV plants for the investment group Accolade at Accolade Funds Park Stříbro in the Czech Republic. The combined installed capacity of the project will exceed 1.5 MWp.
The photovoltaic systems will be installed on the roofs of four industrial halls with a total area of approximately 44,000 square metres. The project represents another example of how commercial rooftop solar PV can support industrial facilities in improving their energy strategy.
Project highlights:
Four rooftop solar PV plants at Accolade Funds Park Stříbro
Total installed capacity exceeding 1.5 MWp
Approximately 44,000 m² of industrial roof area used
More than 3,300 photovoltaic modules with power optimizers
Rooftop solar PV for industrial facilities
Industrial and logistics buildings are among the suitable locations for commercial photovoltaic projects thanks to their large available roof areas and high electricity consumption during operation.
For the Accolade Funds Park Stříbro project, Greenbuddies will install more than 3,300 photovoltaic modules equipped with power optimizers across four industrial halls.
By using available rooftop space, companies can generate renewable electricity without additional land use while supporting their long-term sustainability targets.
Complete EPC delivery by Greenbuddies
Greenbuddies is responsible for the complete EPC delivery of the project. The scope includes project preparation, technology supply, construction coordination and the implementation of the rooftop photovoltaic systems.
The role of an EPC partner is not limited to installing solar modules. It includes managing the complete process from technical design and engineering through construction and commissioning.
“We have been cooperating with Accolade for a long time, practically since our entry into the Czech market. We were also involved in permitting these rooftop solar systems, which makes me especially pleased that the customer has trusted us with the following implementation phase.”
Dan Štajner, Commercial Director at Greenbuddies
The project highlights the importance of long-term cooperation between investors and experienced technology partners. Successful photovoltaic projects require careful preparation, including assessment of the building, technical parameters and connection possibilities.
Greenbuddies experience with commercial solar PV projects
The Accolade project follows Greenbuddies’ experience with rooftop photovoltaic installations for industrial and commercial customers.
Previous projects include photovoltaic systems for:
- Foxconn production facilities in Pardubice
- Ravak production and storage facilities in Příbram
- Kovohutě Příbram facilities
- Albert facilities
- Prague Congress Centre
- ŠKODA AUTO production plants
This experience allows Greenbuddies to manage projects with different technical requirements – from initial design and engineering through EPC construction and commissioning.
Commercial solar PV from project preparation to operation
Every industrial solar PV project requires an individual approach. The final solution depends on the building parameters, available roof area, energy consumption profile and technical requirements.
Greenbuddies supports customers throughout the project lifecycle:
- Technical assessment and project preparation
- Photovoltaic system design
- Technology selection
- EPC implementation
- Construction coordination
- Commissioning
Through its experience in development, construction and operation, Greenbuddies helps companies and investors implement photovoltaic projects that meet their technical and operational requirements.

FAQ
Why install solar PV on industrial buildings?
Industrial halls often provide large unused roof areas combined with significant electricity consumption. Rooftop solar PV allows companies to use existing infrastructure for renewable electricity generation.
What does EPC delivery mean for a solar PV project?
An EPC model means that the contractor manages the project from preparation and technology procurement through construction and commissioning of the photovoltaic system.
What capacity can commercial rooftop solar PV systems achieve?
The capacity depends on available roof area, structural conditions, electricity consumption and grid connection possibilities. Industrial rooftop projects can range from hundreds of kWp to MW-scale installations.
