Some bright numbers to get you hyped:
- Solar boom: In 2015, solar capacity was 200 GW. By 2024, it hit 2,000 GW. That’s two terawatts of pure sunshine. By 2030, we’re aiming for 6,000 GW. This solar boom needs smart energy systems to generate & store power in one place.
- Solar savings: Fraunhofer ISE (July 2024) reports German solar LCOE (levelized cost of elektricity) at 4.1–6.9 eurocents/kWh. Even with battery storage, it's still cheaper than fossil fuels. More sun, less spending.
- Hybrid = The Future: Hybrid plants cut costs, emissions & stabilize the grid. Smart controls keep things profitable & reliable.
