The event welcomed more than 1,000 exhibitors, 530 invited buyers, and delegations from 59 countries, clearly demonstrating the strong growth of the solar sector. The event also featured presentations of the latest technologies and 160 specialised conferences on decarbonisation, investment, and innovation in the energy sector.
Italy is currently one of the most dynamic solar markets in Europe, with many projects in the ready-to-build phase and strong demand for photovoltaic solutions. This confirms the strong support for the solar business in Italy.
Italy ranks among the fastest-growing solar markets in Europe, with a total installed photovoltaic capacity exceeding 40 GW and more than 2 million grid-connected systems by 2025. Market development is supported by several key programmes and mechanisms, including the FER X auction system aimed at promoting renewable energy sources, the MACSE programme supporting the development of battery storage, investments from the European Recovery Plan (PNRR), and transmission grid development projects led by Terna. These initiatives are attracting bids from many foreign companies and development consortia and creating a stable and predictable investment environment. Combined with funding from European funds, they confirm that expansion into the Italian market makes strategic sense and provides strong support for new solar and hybrid energy projects.
The Greenbuddies team presented ongoing and planned projects, discussed photovoltaic and battery solutions, and explored opportunities for collaboration with international developers and investors. Our participation reaffirmed Greenbuddies’ ambition to strengthen cooperation with developers and investors across the EU and expand our presence in Italy.
We’re already looking forward to the next solar trade fair! 🟡
