Construction is currently underway for a total of 7MWp in the Hungarian capital Budapest. It involves the installation of east-west rooftop systems over shopping centres. In total, GB is implementing 5 roofs. Three roofs are already under construction, the remaining two will start after the new year.
A big challenge for us was the low load on the roofs, which we managed to solve with a company that supplies light and stable structures that don't require a lot of ballast. This is ensured by the most up-to-date wind models. The structure is tested in a wind tunnel to verify the calculations. Work is also carried out in winter if weather permits. The installed PV plants will be used to cover the normal daily consumption of the shopping centres and reduce electricity costs.
