The extensive roofs of CTP's industrial and logistics halls in the Czech Republic are gradually being filled with solar panels. The Greenbuddies team is helping the industrial developer improve the energy efficiency and sustainability of its sites and buildings, which will become a key parameter for assessing their value in the future. We are delivering for our long-term partner and project investor, ČEZ ESCO.

A complex EPC project on several sites

On this project, our team is providing complete service delivery from design and permitting processes through component procurement, installation, and commissioning. Thus, these are complex EPC projects that place high demands on knowledge and experience in the pre-design and design phases.

We are gradually building rooftop solar power plants in several locations, on the premises of CTParks in Chrášt'any, Hradec Králové, and Cerhovice. Later this year, we will continue with the installation of PV plants in Brno and again in Hradec Králové. Rooftop photovoltaics within CTPark West Prague in Chrášt'any will consist of 1996 solar modules with a total installed capacity of 890 kWp; in Hradec Králové, 778 panels will contribute to the installed capacity of 350 kWp; and in Cerhovice, 1826 panels with a total capacity of 822 kWp will be placed on the roof of the logistics complex.

The road to green industrial parks

CTP has long been committed to creating sustainable industrial parks through solutions that will ensure their energy self-sufficiency in the near term. Since 2020, it has been building halls that are so-called "solar ready,"  i.e., structurally and insulation-ready, for the placement of photovoltaics on rooftops. The developer started installing PV plants in 2010, and its long-term plan is to install PV plants in CTParks in the Czech Republic with a capacity of 200 to 250 MWp.

In recent years, owners of industrial and logistics halls, as well as office premises, have started to focus on so-called green investments on a large scale. They are therefore investing in technologies that have a positive impact on the energy performance of buildings and the reduction of carbon emissions. Carbon emissions can be expected to play an increasingly important role in the attractiveness of real estate. Changing legislation will lead to the most energy-efficient buildings increasing in value, while the least energy-efficient buildings will decrease in value. Such buildings will then generally be harder to rent. These efforts stem from the European Union's energy policy, which has committed to reducing annual energy consumption in the EU by 32.5% by the end of 2030. Energy efficiency in buildings is therefore one of the strategic priorities that commercial landlords need to take into account.
