Greenbuddies Team

18.12.2025

With the holidays and the end of the year approaching, we have prepared a packed edition of our questions and answers. This time, they will be in a special, festive, and reflective mood. Read how the Greenbuddies management is looking forward to Christmas, how they assess this year, and what they predict for the next one.

Ondřej Vodsloň - Chief Executive Buddy

  • How would you rate this year in the energy sector? Was it sunrise, sunset, or high noon, and why?

For me, it's definitely sunrise. So much has happened in the energy sector this year that I feel like we're just at the beginning of something really big. This is doubly true for us - we have launched new projects ranging from a trader and flexibility aggregator to an international EPC. In addition, we have opened a branch in Italy, and overall, we feel that a whole new era is opening up for us.

  • What would you bet on in the solar sector in 2026 without hesitation?

I would bet on batteries and flexibility without hesitation. Photovoltaics is already commonplace today, but what will be decisive in the future is the ability to store, manage, and trade energy intelligently.

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries in the pre-Christmas rush?

What energises me most is my work and the people around me. We have a great team, and the energy these people give you is fantastic. That actually makes me happy all year round.

Jan Kroneisl - Chief Engineering Buddy

  • How would you rate this year in the energy sector? Was it sunrise, sunset, or high noon, and why?

Sunset. The wave of photovoltaic power plants is ending, but at the same time, a big wave of BESS is coming, which are needed after sunset to keep our appliances running.

  • What was the brightest moment of your personal year 2025?

The opportunity to participate in a large PV + BESS project where we supplied everything on a turnkey basis.

  • What would you bet on in the solar sector in 2026 without hesitation?

The rapid construction of BESS throughout Europe.

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries in the pre-Christmas rush?

Seeing friends again whom I often don't see all year.

  • What Christmas gift would make you happiest?

Achieving my financial plan and a Lego crane so that I can practise assembling batteries not only on the construction site but also when planning projects in the office.

Martina Nováčková - Legal Buddy

  • What was the most memorable moment of your personal year 2025?

I enjoyed the birthdays of my youngest children, twins, who celebrated their 18th birthday the most. It is a great joy and also a relief that all my children are now adults.

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries during the pre-Christmas rush?

I recharge by sleeping, doing some exercise, such as yoga, or lying in bed with a book.

  • What Christmas present would make you happiest?

I would be most happy to receive a ticket to the Pohoda 2026 festival.

  • How would you assess this year in the energy sector? Was it sunrise, sunset, or high noon, and why?

The situation in the energy sector depends on your point of view, and the answer is very individual. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, when MWh prices skyrocketed, many companies and families faced existential problems. On the contrary, companies in the energy sector made record profits. Today, energy prices have stabilised at a new, significantly lower level, and suddenly the business case for investors in resources is no longer viable, banks are hesitant to lend money, etc., purely because they expected unrealistic and unsustainable returns in the long term. For a product that is supposed to be around for the next 20-30 years, decisions are being made based on energy prices from the last few months. However, the objective goal of society should be a cheap, clean, accessible, and reliable supply of electricity. I cannot say for myself what stage of the day we are at. Energy is a stable industry with certain demand, but the main theme will change over time. For 2025, it was probably large battery systems and their colocation with ground-mounted photovoltaic parks.

  • What was the brightest moment of your personal year 2025?

Definitely the fact that, despite a difficult market that some of our competitors couldn't withstand, we managed to resume growth and exceed a billion in turnover.

  • What would you bet on without hesitation in the solar sector in 2026?

That it will be a dynamic environment in which it will be necessary to constantly adapt, come up with new products, and open up new regions. Because those who stand still will soon be left behind.

Šárka Hrdinová - Accounting & Tax Buddy

  • What was the most memorable moment of your personal year 2025?

My most beautiful experience of 2025 was a skiing tour of the French Alps, where I got to places I never thought I would see in my lifetime. The combination of demanding physical exertion and breathtaking natural beauty made it a truly unforgettable experience that gave me strength.

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries in the pre-Christmas rush?

I set aside time for myself. Every day, I clear my head with a long walk with my dog in nature. It's a small but necessary ritual that allows me to "switch off" from work worries and return to them with new energy and perspective.

  • What Christmas gift would make you happiest?

I've already given myself the best gift: an escape from the holiday rush and an active vacation in Madeira. There's nothing better than relaxing and recharging your batteries with a change of scenery and outdoor activities 😊.

Ondřej Štěpánek - Chief Project & Development Buddy

  • How would you rate this year in the energy sector? Was it a sunrise, sunset, or high noon, and why?

It depends on which part of the energy sector we are looking at. It was the sunset of photovoltaic power plants without battery storage. It was the sunrise of standalone battery storage. And above all, it was the sunrise of our own flexibility aggregator!

  • What was the brightest moment of your personal year 2025?

The founding of a new company, Greenbuddies Solutions, which will provide our customers with electricity trading and flexibility aggregator services. This completes the full vertical integration of the Greenbuddies group's services and offers customers a complete portfolio of services from PV/BESS development and construction to the monetisation of completed projects.

  • What would you bet on without hesitation in the solar sector in 2026?

That the sun will always rise in the morning and set in the evening :).

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries in the pre-Christmas rush?

The great Greenbuddies team, which pulls together and can solve any problem.

  • What Christmas present would make you happiest?

A couple of new profitable BESS projects to implement.

Zuzana Pacourková - Marketing Buddy

  • How would you rate this year in the energy sector? Was it sunrise, sunset, or high noon, and why?

I see it as the beginning of a new era in the discussion about battery energy storage—its role in the new energy mix and ways to monetize it. In the Czech Republic in particular, this topic really took off this year and was explored from all angles.

  • What was the brightest moment of your personal 2025?

Most of my most valuable experiences this year come from traveling with my family—discovering new landscapes, learning about different cultures, and tasting local foods is always a joy.

  • What would you bet on without hesitation in the solar sector in 2026?

Adding BESS to photovoltaic projects will be a necessity.

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries in the pre-Christmas rush?

Cooking and baking according to my great-grandmother's recipes always calms me down. I also look forward to watching Christmas movies with my children.

  • What Christmas gift would make you happiest?

Any adventure, big or small. It doesn't have to be anything far away; discovering something new and enjoying the moment is the best gift for me.

Marcel Hrubý - Chief Technical Buddy

  • How would you rate this year in the energy sector? Was it sunrise, sunset, or high noon, and why?

You have to go out and find happiness. The same applies to the sun. This sunny happiness accompanies me during my visits to our projects, whether they are under construction or planned for the future. Wherever I am, the sun is there too. Thank you, sunshine.

  • What was the brightest moment of your personal year 2025?

I am sincerely happy that, thanks to our enthusiasm and smart diversification of our business model, we are managing to grow even at a time when the market around us is consolidating and several major players in the market are even going bankrupt.

  • What would you bet on in the solar sector in 2026 without hesitation?

I believe that the European manufacturing industry will take a deep breath and start producing and supplying renewable energy technologies that will not only be price-competitive, but will also support European self-sufficiency and cyber security.

  • What helps you stay calm and recharge your batteries in the pre-Christmas rush?

The pre-Christmas rush and the completion of construction work heralds two weeks of company-wide vacation and rest. I plan to spend this Christmas in Spain on a tour of less touristy destinations. What better way to recharge my batteries than to visit national and large photovoltaic parks, of which Spain has more than 32 GWp.

  • What Christmas present would make you happiest?

The greatest Christmas present for me would be if the European Union focused its attention and resources on "Make Europe Great Again" as we did with the Green Deal.
