The Greenbuddies team is currently implementing a new agrivoltaic project in Gaiselberg, Austria. This 0.92 MWp project involves the installation of 2,560 solar panels above vineyards, combining renewable energy production with sustainable grapevine cultivation. The solar panels provide optimal protection against excessive sunlight, improving the microclimate for grape growth, which can positively influence both the quality and yield of the crops.
Similar to our previous successful project with blueberries in Wieselburg, this project uses innovative mounting systems that allow for farming under the panels without occupying agricultural land. Agrivoltaics thus offers an effective solution to the ecological and economic challenges faced by modern agriculture. This project serves as an example of how renewable energy and traditional agriculture can work together to create a more sustainable future.
